Justin Bieber Named 2015 MTV EMAS Best Canadian Act;
Now Competes for Best Worldwide Act: North America
MTV today announced Justin Bieber as the 2015 MTV EMAS Best Canadian Act winner. Scores of music fans visited mtvema.com to vote for Justin Bieber, who beat out Canadian artists Carly Rae Jepsen, Drake, Shawn Mendes, and The Weeknd to take the #1 spot.
Justin Bieber now faces off against Best American Act winner Taylor Swift for the Best Worldwide Act: North America title – and viewers can help him win by continuing to vote until 5:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 24 on mtvema.com. This year, local winners go straight into the running for the Worldwide Act EMA. When the EMA winners are announced during the show, six Worldwide Act winners are set to emerge, each representing a different portion of the planet: Africa/India, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Latin America, and North America.
Host Ed Sheeran and co-host Ruby Rose are set to host this explosive edition of the MTV EMAS, which broadcasts on Sunday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV from the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, featuring performances by Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental, Ellie Goulding, Jason Derulo, and more.
