Toronto, ON – May 22, 2015 – Summer 2015 is just around the corner and Newfoundland’s Fortunate Ones are digging out their wide brimmed hats and sunscreen and hitting a slew of folk festivals from sea to shining sea!  Kicking the summer off with the beautifully curated Festival of Small Halls on Prince Edward Island, Andrew and Catherine will make the most of festival season weekends with stops in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia (full list below).

The release of their debut album, The Bliss, on February 10th, set the band on a steady course of action for the first half of 2015.  A sold out show at Holy Heart Theatre in their hometown of St. John’s was followed by sold out shows in Atlantic Canada and through Ontario including a packed to the rafters show at Toronto’s Dakota Tavern.  The band capped off their tour at JUNOFEST 2015 in Hamilton.

Fortunate Ones’ single, The Bliss, hit #1 on CBC Radio 2’s Top 20 in February and stayed perched on the Top 20 chart for 8 straight weeks! They also topped the East Coast Countdown as well!  The album was added at 27 college radio stations across the country and debuted at #45 on the National Earshot Top 50 Album Chart.

Produced by multi-ECMA winner Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant/Don Brownrigg), and recorded in Nova Scotia, Fortunate Ones’ The Bliss was released by JUNO Award winning songwriter Rose Cousins’ label, Old Farm Pony Records on February 10, 2015. The Bliss takes listeners out of the house, the car, the trail they’re running, and brings them on a magical escape for 40 minutes full of stories of hope, strength and heart.  The Bliss is a culmination of beautiful pop melodies, with folk harmonies and infectious choruses that have every audience singing along. The album features guest appearances by East Coast favourites Jenn Grant, Don Brownrigg and Kinley Dowling.
